Pueblito Viejo

In a decidedly organic fashion, the #MyXXFLY team set out with an outfit and nowhere to shoot. The great thing about Miami is you can drive in any direction and sooner rather than later you’ll find some supremely cool, visually interesting locales by simply keeping your eyes peeled.

Pueblito Viejo Miami is a Colombian Restaurant and Tavern on Bird Road. Admittedly, the MyXXFLY team knew very little about the location before this shoot, but when no one asked us to leave we knew they were winners. The color blocking of Pueblito Viejo’s store front was a perfect backdrop for the pattern mixing of this outfit, but better yet, the wood and wrought iron windows are identical to the ones in my grandparents house in Chinandega Nicaragua. The nostalgia of a place like Pueblito Viejo hits hard for anyone with roots in Latin America. This added a level of comfort to this shoot, that could only be compared to wearing sneakers with a thrifted swing skirt and second-hand denim. Until next time kiddos, stay double-x and fly.
